Belsay - Capheaton
I have long been fascinated by these old buildings standing in a field to the west of the A696 approaching Belsay and finally stopped the other day to have a closer look, Belsay, Northumberland.
These buildings are Grade II listed and are described as a well preserved group of three disused tile kilns of typical local type, today used as outbuildings. The kilns are of a horizontal type and were built immediately adjacent to one another. They may in their time have been used as pigsties. It grieves me to note that they are not cared for there being trees growing through them. Belsay, Northumberland.
