A Trip down the Tyne
Setting off the Millenium Bridge was opened so we turned up-river giving us a great view of the Tyne bridges. Newcastle upon Tyne
Now heading down river . The large building on the right is the "Baltic" a former flour storage facility a now contempory art gallery. Newcastle upon Tyne
Not an industial wasteland as one might expect near Bill Quay. River Tyne
The journey to the coast is about 12 miles. These cranes are the largest remaining on the north side of the river and are found at "Shepherd Offshore" River Tyne
At Hebburn on the south bank . River Tyne
A container ship at Tyne Dock between Jarrow and South Shields, River Tyne
Where so many great ships were launched work here now is the dismantling of a huge North Sea oil Platform, River Tyne
A ferry in from scandinavia berthed at the "Royal Quays" dock. River Tyne
On the south bank the pedestrian ferry terminal of the "Shields Ferry" which plys between North and South Shields. River Tyne
